This map is based on the 2023 Maternity Survey by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which looks at experiences of women across the maternity pathway. It shows women’s experience of care during labour and birth by trust.

Women give scores out of 10 for a range of questions about antenatal care, care during delivery and care after the birth. These scores are then "benchmarked" to see whether trusts performed better or worse compared to other trust.

Hover over the point to see details of the score out of 10, and results on women’s experience of getting the help they needed before the birth and after the birth while they were still in hospital

The CQC Maternity survey provides information on a large range of indicators. For more details on the data and full results of the survey by trust please see Maternity survey 2023 - Care Quality Commission (cqc.org.uk)
